A young woman recounts a story to a group of friends who listen with rapt attention, but the tale sounds very familiar… Another masterful and clever work by one of the world’s premier shorts filmmakers.

Manchester United Season Review 2007-2008 2008

Not since ‘99 have Manchester United fans witnessed a season like this one. Entertaining as no other team can, the Reds produced some stunning, sublime football, scoring goals for fun to secure their 17th League title on a tension-filled final day at Wigan, before travelling to Moscow for a night of the highest drama imaginable to complete an incredible double. In a nail-biting, hearts in mouths finale, with United just one penalty kick away from defeat, their prayers were answered. Just one more slip was needed for Fergie’s brave warriors to take advantage and capture the European Cup for a third time and fittingly, almost as destiny decreed, 50 years on from when the English pioneers of European football suffered the terrible tragedy of Munich.

24 Hours of Le Mans Official Review 2014 2014

2014 saw the eagerly anticipated return of Porsche to the Le Mans fray. The 919 hybrid looked to add to the legend forged by cars like the 917, 956 and 911. Le Mans in 2014 is a very different proposition to that faced by the Munich company's designers and engineers in 1998 when they last won the historic race outright. Audi, Porsche's stablemate certainly weren't going to hand their hard won LMP1 crown to Porsche without a fight and (relatively) new kids on the block Toyota had their sights firmly set on a first win. In short, Porsche had a heck of a hill to climb. It all made for one of the most thrilling Le Mans 24 races in recent memory and gave the commentary team at Radio Le Mans more than enough subject matter for their marathon efforts. Add in to the mixture a truly exciting LMP2 class and some great racing amongst the GTEs and you've got the perfect recipe for the most prestigious motor race on the calendar.

F1 2000 Official Review - They’ve Done It At Last 2001

Williams BMW employed the youngest ever British driver, twenty-year-old Jenson Button, big cats Jaguar opened their first F1 season, hoping to follow on from previous success in sports car racing and the US hosted its first F1 race for nine years, attracting the biggest spectator crowd the sport has witnessed in recent times. The season saw a wave of emerging talent such as Pedro de la Rosa (Arrows), and notably Jarno Trulli (Jordan), who ran strong at the Nurburgring and Monaco respectively. But no one looked close to challenging the sport’s contemporary stars Michael Schumacher (Ferrari) and Mika Hakkinen (McLaren). With the aid of Ferrari’s master strategist Ross Brawn, Michael Schumacher’s persistence and determination clinched the championship title for the third time. This video captures the season’s most awesome moments, including unique footage previously only seen on the pay-per-view channels which are produced by Formula One Administration Limited.

TT Review 2003 2003

There’s nothing remotely like it anywhere in the wide world of motorcycle and motor sports. Only the notorious TT Mountain Course presents its challengers with over 37 miles of public roads to attack at mind-boggling speeds. The ultimate challenge has been there since 1907 and in 2003 Ireland’s Adrian Archibald was the one to conquer it in determined, ultra high speed style on his 1000cc TAS Suzuki. Sadly, Archibald’s win in the Duke F1 was to be dedicated to his TAS teammate David Jefferies, 2002’s fastest man and outright lap record holder, who was fatally injured in a practice accident. Later in the week the Ulsterman set a runaway 126+mph average pace in the Senior to achieve a fitting and emotional win for the TAS Suzuki team. Watch Kiwis Bruce Anstey and Shaun Harris power their way to victory and marvel at Molly’s sidecar wheel-spinning over the Mountain to yet one more win!

Review 2014

The series uses “mockumentary” techniques to depict the fictional, reality television-style adventures of enthusiastic professional critic Forrest MacNeil, who hosts a TV show called "Review" in which he engages in any life experience his viewers ask him to, to find out if that life experience “is any good”. Afterward, Forrest formally rates each life experience in-studio, on a one-to-five-star scale. However, Forrest's compulsive curiosity and uncompromising commitment to the show unexpectedly backfire in ways that increasingly destroy his life as he is requested to review 'stealing', 'drug addiction', 'being a racist', 'getting divorced', 'getting revenge', and 'running from the law.

Sports Review

Sports Review was an early British television programme, produced by the BBC and broadcast by their BBC Television Service during the late 1930s. It was the first regular sports programme to be transmitted by television. The programme was presented by Howard Marshall, who was a well known BBC radio presenter, and transmitted once per month. Each edition would endure for twenty minutes and featured Marshall reviewing notable sporting events that had occurred during the past month and interviewing sportsmen and women. Film clips from relevant sporting events would also be shown. The first episode was shown on 30 April 1937, and the series continued until the suspension of the BBC Television Service for the duration of World War II during September 1939. The programme was not reinstated upon the resumption of the service during 1946. As the editions were all transmitted live from the BBC's Alexandra Palace studios, and the BBC did not have any professional method of recording broadcasts at the time, nothing survives of the series in the archives, except for some still photographs.
