Sitting Ducks is a children's animated television series based on lithograph and the 1998 children's book, Sitting Ducks, created by Michael Bedard. Sitting Ducks first appeared in 2001 in Europe, later debuting in North America on Cartoon Network, in Australia on ABC, in Canada on YTV, in the United Kingdom on Nickelodeon, CITV, Disney XD and in the Japanese version of Cartoon Network. The show lasted for two seasons each comprising 13 episodes, with the last episode shown on July 5, 2003. Reruns of the show were aired on Qubo in 2007 and was later aired as part of its Qubo Night Owl block until June 30, 2012. Episodes are also currently available for viewing on Hulu and Netflix.
Sitting Pretty is a 1992 BBC television sitcom written by John Sullivan. The series starred Diane Bull, David Ashford and John Cater and was directed by Susan Belbin and Angela De Chastelai Smith. The series followed the travails of a woman whose millionaire husband dies suddenly. She discovers that her husband's will has left her penniless and she is forced to move back in with her parents and sister on their farm. The lead role was originally intended to be played by a male lead, but was changed to become the first Sullivan sitcom to feature a female lead since Just Good Friends. However, John Oliver notes that it is also remembered as the writer's first notable failure.
Sitting Ducks is a lithograph created by Michael Bedard in the late 1970s. It depicts a literal interpretation of the idiom "sitting duck". Three ducks are relaxing in the sun on white chairs by the poolside, one looks up and notices two bullet holes in the wall. Bedard then went on to create an entire series of "Sitting Ducks" related lithographs, which culminated in a children's book and a cartoon series.
