The Games was an Australian mockumentary television series about the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. The series was originally broadcast on the ABC and had two seasons of 13 episodes each, the first in 1998 and the second in 2000. 'The Games' starred satirists John Clarke and Bryan Dawe along with Australian comedian Gina Riley and actor Nicholas Bell. It was written by John Clarke and Ross Stevenson. The series centred on the Sydney Organising Committee for the Olympic Games and satirised corruption and cronyism in the Olympic movement, bureaucratic ineptness in the New South Wales public service, and unethical behaviour within politics and the media. An unusual feature of the show was that the characters shared the same name as the actors who played them, to enhance the illusion of a documentary on the Sydney Games.

Games Republic

Games Republic was a 30 minute TV game show which was broadcast on BSkyB's .tv channel from 1999 to 2000. It had an Egyptian theme and was hosted by Trevor and Simon. The first round consisted of the 'punch up quiz' in which two contestants battled against each other to get a chance at playing a bronze, silver or gold challenge. If the contestant won the bronze challenge then on the next show, the contestant would get a chance to play a silver challenge and the same for the gold challenge. For the challenges, a character called 'the Pundit' was brought on to give advice to the contestant and to inform the viewers about the game. The show was criticised by contestants for the lack of research into its questions. Contestants often questioned the presenters on air to answers which were in fact correct but were still given as false.

Star Games was a television series which ran in weekly syndication from September 7, 1985 to March 1, 1986. It featured teams of actors representing various American TV shows competing in sports events. The events the teams competed in included swim sprints and relays, kayaking, track sprints and relays, a bicycle relay, and an "Apache Relay" obstacle course. The show ran for two sets of 13 episodes, or "seasons". The host throughout was former Olympic decathlon champion and actor Bruce Jenner. Pamela Sue Martin co-hosted for Season One, while Season Two had Morgan Brittany. Former American football player and actor Dick Butkus served as the show's "Special Referee". The series was similar in presentation to Battle of the Network Stars, and debuted only four months after the 18th Special aired. The program was distributed by Viacom.

Spyder Games 2001

Spyder Games is a television series that was broadcast on MTV from June 18, 2001 through September 20, 2001. MTV's second foray into the soap opera format following the run of the anthology series Undressed, the series was originally called Spyder Web in development. Originally intended for a 3 pm time slot, Spyder Games ultimately debuted at 7 pm because of its racy content. The final episodes, originally scheduled to air during the week of 10 September 2001, were postponed by a week because of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The last episode was written as cliffhanger, but MTV did not pick the series up for a second season.

Games Night was a fortnightly video game discussion show originally presented by Alan Boiston and later by Paul Vale that aimed to discuss issues suggested for inclusion by members of the XLEAGUE.TV forums. The Games is a British reality television series that ran on Channel 4 for four series, in which 10 celebrities competed against each other, by doing Olympic-style events, such as weight lifting, gymnastics and diving. At the end of the series, the contestants with the most points from each round were awarded either a gold, silver or bronze medal. The show was mainly filmed in Sheffield, at the Sheffield Arena, Don Valley Stadium and Ponds Forge. The Games was presented by Jamie Theakston for the entirety of its run, with track-side reports from Jayne Middlemiss in series 1–3 and Kirsty Gallacher in series 4. The Games also had an after-show called The Games: Live at Trackside, aired on Channel 4's sister channel E4. The first series was presented by Dougie Anderson, whilst the second was hosted by Gamezville presenters Darren Malcolm and Jamie Atiko. Justin Lee Collins and Caroline Flack took over as presenters for the third and fourth series. For the final series an extra one-hour show was added on E4 in the afternoon called The Games: Live at the Heats, and the evening show changed title to become The Games: Inside Track.
